The Stewards announce the following disciplinary actions arising from inquiries held at the offices of the Jamaica Racing Commission, Units 15-17 Big Buy Plaza, Portmore, St. Catherine, on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

Jockey SHAVON TOWNSEND who rode NATIVE FLYER in the tenth (10th) race on Thursday, January 31st, 2026, was fined Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) for his excessive use of the whip during the running of the race.

Jockey SHANE ELLIS who rode BRILLIANT BOY in the third (3rd) race on Thursday, January 31st, 2026, was fined Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) for his excessive use of the whip during the running of the race.

Jockey SHANE ELLIS who rode SLAM SHARP in the fourth (4th) race on Sunday, February 8th, 2026, had his explanation accepted for failure to take all reasonable and permissible measures whilst abroad his mount in the final 400 metres of the race.

Jockey CONROD ELLIS who rode SIPPIN ON SUNSHINE in the third (3rd) race on Saturday, January 17th, 2026, was fined Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) for his excessive use of the whip during the running of the race.

Trainer OWEN DAWES was severely cautioned for the use of any abusive or calumnious language towards a member of the Commission.
