The Stewards announce the following disciplinary actions arising from inquiries held at the offices of the Jamaica Racing Commission, Unit 15-17 Big Buy Plaza, Portmore, St. Catherine, on Tuesday, July 29th, 2025.

Jockey ROMARIO SPENCER who rode:

  • MATUSO in the ninth (9th) race on Saturday, July 12th, 2025 was fined Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00) for his unprofessional conduct of his riding.
  • SECRET MISSION in the fourth (4TH) race on Saturday, July 19TH, 2025 had his explanation accepted for failure to take all reasonable and permissible measures throughout the race to obtain the best possible placing.

Jockey CONROD ELLIS who rode SKYRIZI in the second (2nd) race on Sunday, June 29th, 2025 was cautioned for the excessive use of his whip.

Jockey ERIC HAUGHTON who rode BOBBYTWOBAD in the seventh (7th) race on Sunday, July 13th, 2025 was fined Seven Thousand Dollars ($7,000.00) for the intimidation and interference caused to SWEET BERN leaving the 1000 meter mark.

Jockey WESLEY HENRY who rode TIZ TOK in the fourth (4th) race on Saturday, July 26th, 2025 was summoned to explain instructions given to him by the trainer in terms of warming up procedures of the horse that may have resulted in the below expected performance of the horse. After hearing his submission, Jockey Henry was exonerated.

Trainer ANTHONY NUNES was summoned to explain the instructions that he gave to the rider in terms of warming up procedures of the horse TIZ TOK, that may have resulted in the below expected performance of the horse who raced in the fourth (4th) race on Saturday, July 26th, 2025. After hearing his submission, Trainer Nunes was fined Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00).
