The Stewards announce the following disciplinary actions arising from inquiries held at the offices of the Jamaica Racing Commission, Unit 15-17 Big Buy Plaza, Portmore, St. Catherine, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
Jockey DEMAR WILLIAMS who rode:
- STRONG MIND in the eighth (8th) race on Saturday, September 27th, 2025, had his explanation accepted for his excessive use of the whip.
- ABREATHOFFRESHAIR in the tenth (10th) race on Saturday, September 27th, 2025, was fined Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) for his excessive use of the whip.
Jockey NICARDO CARR who rode AMAD ALI in the first (1st) race on Saturday, September 27th, 2025, was fined Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) for his excessive use of the whip.
Jockey DANE DAWKINS who rode BASILICUS in the fifth (5th) race on Saturday, October 4th, 2025, had his explanation accepted for failure to ensure the horse obtained the best possible placing.
Jockey CLIVE LYNCH who rode MR LEE in the second (2nd) race on Saturday, September 27th, 2025, was suspended for two (2) race days for the excessive use of his whip. The suspension will take effect on Saturday, November 1st, 2025.
Jockey ERIC HAUGHTON who rode GIRLYTHEBUTCHER in the seventh (7th) race on Saturday, September 27th, 2025, was suspended for one (1) race day for the excessive use of his whip. The suspension will take effect on Saturday, November 1st, 2025.
