Subject: DECISION JOCKEY CALVIN BAILEY
June 17, 2025

The Stewards announce the following disciplinary actions arising from inquiries held at the offices of the Jamaica Racing Commission, Unit 15-17 Big Buy Plaza, Portmore, St. Catherine, on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. Jockey Calvin Bailey who rode DON KWESI on Sunday, April 27, 2025 was scheduled for a hearing on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 with the Operations Stewards to respond to charges of interference and intimidation caused to LOCKDOWN approaching the 200-meter point. This incident resulted in the disqualification of his mount, DON KWESI. However, the Stewards were unable to proceed with the hearing on that day due to Jockey Bailey’s attire and his conduct, which was deemed ungentlemanly. The matter was subsequently heard on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. As a consequence of his conduct, as well as the interference and intimidation caused to LOCKDOWN, Jockey Bailey was suspended for 12 race days and fined Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00). The suspension will commence on Saturday, June 21, 2025.
