The Stewards announce the following disciplinary actions arising from inquiries held at the offices of the Jamaica Racing Commission, 8 Winchester Road, Kingston 10, on Tuesday, January 09, 2024. Jockey SHAVON TOWNSEND who rode PRESS CONFERENCE in tenth (10th) race on Tuesday, 26th December, 2023, was fined Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) for the excessive use of the whip in the final 300 metre of the race. He was also suspended for one raceday and fined Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) for accepting and holding a young child in the Winner’s Enclosure after the running of the race. The suspension will commence on 20th January, 2024.
