Subject: DECISION Jockey JEROME INNIS and Groom NEVILLE BUTLER
May 02, 2023

Jockey JEROME INNIS and Groom NEVILLE BUTLER, jockey and groom of the horse KWAKU which raced on Saturday, April 22, 2023, were summoned on the charge of breaching Rule 192 of the Jamaica Racing Commission Racing Rules 1977 by using a cellular phone in the parade ring prior to the running of the sixth (6th) race. After hearing evidence from Innis and Butler, as well as trainer Welsh Soutar, who assisted them, the Operations Stewards ruled that they found that no breach of Rule 192 was committed. Both Jockey Innis and Groom Butler were however advised not to repeat their actions as it could impair the image of horseracing in Jamaica.
