Summer Training Programme

Programme Description

The JRC in its continued effort to bring order and a formal structure to all aspects of the racing industry, turned its attention in collaboration with the National Youth Service (NYS) to have young persons exposed to apsects of the Industry and possible career options.
Goal and Objectives
  • To provide mentorship opportunities in horse racing, for 14-18 year olds
  • To introduce 14-18 year olds to the sport of horse racing
  • To facilitate exposure to the care and prepartion of the race horse
  • To foster better understanding by the wider community of horse racing and its contribuion to society
  • To provide summer employment with a stipend
The programme duration is weeks, operating from 6am to 2pm.

Facilitates with the involvement of its staff members in orientation, training and work experience for the students.
