Subject: APPEAL - AARON CHATRIE (JOCKEY) vs. STEWARDS

On Thursday, 22nd August, 2019 the Jamaica Racing Commission heard an appeal from Jockey Aaron Chatrie against the Stewards’ decision on 28th May, 2019 to suspend him for five (5) race days and imposed a fine of $20,000 for his ungentlemanly conduct. The Commission after considering the evidence ruled that: • Jockey Aaron Chatrie be referred for counseling and periodic reports of such be submitted to the Commission. • The fine of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000) imposed by the Stewards to remain. • The suspension of five (5) days imposed by the stewards be suspended for one year, during which should Jockey Chatrie be found guilty of such conduct by the Stewards, the five (5) race days shall be added to any decision handed down by the Stewards for such conduct.
